Dear Passengers and Crew,

Great news, the Top Lists available via the 'in-room' button are now fixed. You can select 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. If you're a newer chatter, you may also notice we now have a Top List available in Embarkation.

To access the top lists and see the biggest talkers, click the  button in the top left of the chat window.

We're also pleased to announce that the Chat Radio will no longer pop up for Ad-Free users... we're sorry that happened! Also, if you use the Profile or Logbook templates to make your profile look jazzy, they are now all working.

Oh and one last thing, we have some new things coming soon *S* a way to earn special premium goodies, and a place to see all your achievements. Keep your eyes peeled!

Valentines Celebrations
- Rather than doing yet another throw emote with some more hearts flying around, we thought we'd change it a little. This year we're allowing you all to "purchase" free of charge a chat valentines gift, and give it to a special person of your choice. 
- The Gift will have its normal price deducted, giving a total of £0.00.
- The Gift can only be given to someone else.
- There is a “Payment Provider” with a Heart Logo, and a £0.00 surcharge.
- After checkout, the gift will immediately be given to the recipient.
- After purchase it will no longer be possible to give any further gifts away for free (valentines section will still be there).
- Finally, as a special gift just for you, if you don't already have access to a standard private cabin, we will give you one so that you and your sweetheart have a private place to chat.
We hope that your Valentine's day is everything you could possibly hope it will be.

How talkative are you? Probably not as talkative as our official biggest talking PhotoChatters... LovelyCharmingLady who has written over 46,000 lines in 30 days! The most talkative male is andy2004trucker who has only written around 13,000 lines.

What does this mean? Girls.... you talk faaaaar too much *S*

Are you popular? The most popular female on board in the last 30 days is kazzy39 who's had a whopping 4022 people look at her profile! The most popular male at the moment appears to be Destroyer69 who's had 983 people look at his profile.

Maybe the girls just aren't interested in us lads? :-(

Goodbye Decorations & Hello Land Ahoy

Dear Passengers and Crew,

You will now notice that we've ripped down the Christmas decorations and stuffed them away in a box until next year, and asked the Captain to take his Santa hat off. With this, the Christmas room has now closed. If you were successful in completing the Xmas Fairy 2011 ChatQuest, then well done, your /wetsnow emote is truly exclusive!

We hate to stop the decorating though, so we've decorated something else *S* When you get a moment, pop down to one of the Land Ahoy rooms which we recently reduced to simply England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. You will notice that as of today, they have some lovely new designs. What do you think? Hopefully you like them as much as we do :) If you've been signed in a while, you may need to log off and back on to see the new designs.

Once again, Happy New Year.... lets continue to sail throughout 2012!

Christmas Fun Vote

Seasons greetings to all



It's that time of year again and we thought we would do something a little different.



Remember as a child we enjoyed pantomimes? “Oooooh no I didn't … Ooooh yes you did” We thought it might be fun to have a fun vote.



Below are a few categories from Snow White and how it works is, you think of your friends, copy and paste the characters into a shipmail and place one friends name next to the character you think they would be ideal playing. Simple.

And to make it that extra bit special, the winner of each category will win a choice of prize from the 7 day features. So think of it as your way in voting for your friend to receive a Christmas gift and having fun at the same time.

What is a Navigator?

Navigators are chatters who volunteer to spend a lot of time helping out and keeping order on the chat.


The ideal Navigator knows every little secret on the Chat, he or she is extremely patient, both when helping out newbies and when dealing with occasional trouble.


Only very experienced chatters become Navigators, so if you feel like helping others and want to help make the chat a nice place for everyone, it could be just the challenge for you.

How to become a Navigator

Would you like to be a Chat Navigator?

Before answering this question there are some things you should know.

Being a Navigator is not an easy role to fulfil. It is demanding, takes hard work and dedication and a lot of online time.

  1. As a navigator you're an ambassador for the Chat. This means that chatters watch everything you say and do. Behave inappropriately, and it gives all Navigators a bad name. Being helpful at all times when on and off watch, shows what a great team we are.
  2. Navigators are the first people new chatters meet and their most important task is to make sure that these newbies have a good experience the first time they are on board.
  3. Some chatters will see it as their job to try to wind you up. If they succeed, they win. If they don't, everyone wins :) Therefore you have to be helpful and patient when people ask you a question. As a Navigator your behaviour should be spotless on the chat at all times.

If you are the kind of person who gets emotional easily, then being a navigator may not be for you. You must be objective always; NEVER taking sides, even when your friends are involved, and always play devils advocate. Never make assumptions.
You must be able to keep confidences, both chatters and other Navigators may come to you with problems. And you will also be the first to find out about new things too ? you must be able to keep these things close to your chest! Having the patience of a saint too is necessary! Some chatters take a while to help, and you need to ensure that your personality can cope with these demanding times.

You should also ask yourself, Am I a team player? This is a very important question as the Navigator system can only work with a team spirit. All ranks working together for a common goal.

All this said, being a navigator is very rewarding. Just ask any of our existing Navigators and they will tell you that nothing beats the feeling of when you help a chatter or solve a dispute and receive a huge Thank you.
So, still interested? Then you also need to meet the following criteria.
  1. You must have been a chatter for at least 6 months.
  2. You must have a minimum chat rank of Midshipman.
  3. You must have a clear chat record, with no serious bans/behaviour issues in the last 6 months.
  4. You must also have completed the 5 standard chat quests. /sing, /shout, /whisper, /sleep, /love


If you meet the criteria above, there is still one more thing to do. To become a Navigator you have to pass the Navigator Exam.

If you would like to be a navigator, and do not qualify yet, then take this time to get to know everything there is to know about the chat. The more you know, the more you'll be able to help others.

So, join the Navigator Team and help make Chat the fun and friendly place you want it to be! Keep an eye on the bridge for opportunities to register for the exam!
